Q&A with Shantel
Welcome to Plum Arrow! I almost cannot believe this is my reality and I am so incredibly grateful to have you visit my site!
How about a bit of Q&A to learn a bit about me?!?
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself...
A: My name is Shantel Reiber and I am 34 years old. I am a high school Spanish and English teacher by day...business owner and mom by evening! Because life as a full time teacher with two little boys, a husband, and an adorable pup just isn't hectic enough...:)
Q: Tell us about your family...
A: I am married to Drew and we have two amazing and busy little boys, Andrew (7) and Blake (5...almost). Drew is quite possibly the most supportive husband on the planet. No matter what I decide I want to do, he immediately tells me to go for it. His unwavering belief in me and support of all of my dreams is absolutely incredible. I am blessed beyond measure. He can be found taking photos of me, building new clothing racks, and entertaining the boys for hours on end as I work on this crazy, exciting business!
Q: Why in the world did you do this?!?
A: Simply stated...it felt right in my heart. I can remember being a little girl and having three big dreams. I spent all of my time "pretending" to be these things all the way through middle school. I wanted to be a mom, a teacher, and work in a store. For the past couple of years I have just felt like there was more in this life for me. I have felt like something was missing. I started to reflect on those childhood dreams and through lots of prayer and intuition...here we are.
As a young girl, I never quite let myself believe I could ever OWN a store...but why not? I have been reading so many books and listening to so many podcasts lately (If you don't do this, I cannot recommend it enough). The same theme continually presented itself over and over...that you should spend your days doing something you love.
When I really dig deep, there is one thing that repeatedly comes to mind when I think about the one thing that I LOVE to do...shop! Anxious? Shop. Tired? Shop. Sad? Shop. Excited? Shop. You get the point... :)
After a lot of soul searching and trying to find a side hustle to bring more income into my home for several years, it just all became clear one day. Of course I should open my own store! I'm not willing to give up teaching, so the online boutique seemed the logical path to travel. Will I be able to juggle it all?? Time will tell. For now, I am soaking it all up and loving every moment. Is this even real life?!? Living my dream come true!
Q: How do you go about doing this?
A: Stay tuned...more to come on this! :)
